the quiet never lasts but the music plays on.
Mason Crowe spent years doing work that didn’t officially exist. Specialized training, missions in the dark, places that never make the news—only the occasional blurry image on a television most people never fully understand. By the time the work was done, the only thing he wanted was quiet. A little less pain and a little more distance.
He almost had it.
Almost isn’t finished.

The music. The films. Mason Crowe.
I Miss You John Wayne comes from a night I spent as part of a six-agent detail protecting John Wayne’s family at an eighty-million-dollar auction in Dallas, Texas. Threats were already in play before the first guests arrived, so we ran chase cars, stayed on walkies, and kept the family covered while the room stayed polished and unaware. It was the kind of night that made you feel how far the old way had gone — and how much some of us still miss the man who once stood for it.
